  • Beach Baskets by Susan Spence

On her daily walks along the ocean’s edge, Long Beach Peninsula graphic designer and artist Susan Spence envisioned a new life for the cast-off cordage that drifted in. So she began creating beach baskets from the rope that washes ashore on the Long Beach Peninsula.

Each piece of foraged rope is carefully cleaned, then hand-stitched and finished into a gorgeous, functional piece by Susan, who possesses a keen eye for quality, artistry, and color. Find her one-of-a-kind beach baskets at the Marie Powell Gallery.

  • Pottery by David Campiche

David Campiche, a potter for over 50 years, throws himself into every piece he creates with passion, exploration, and vigor. David has sought a deeper meaning in the clay form and process, which he likes to call “the zen of clay.”

For many years, David has been a part of a larger community of potters who gather around the Astoria Dragon Kiln, a traditional Japanese wood-fired kiln. We’re proud to sell his pottery at the Marie Powell Gallery!

  • Art by Gregory Gorham

A painter, printmaker, and illustrator, Gregory Gorham was born and raised in Northern Michigan, and memories of its diverse forested lands, ponds, lakes, and rivers inspire his artwork. Gregory now resides in the Pacific Northwest, where his paintings are influenced by harbors, fishing vessels, marshes, and other watery subjects. Whether it is oil paints, watercolors, or acrylic, he draws on each medium’s unique characteristic to instill a sense of joy in his arts viewers. And we’re very excited to sell his art at the Marie Powell Gallery!
