BeachBasket Class
Explore your creativity and connect with our maritime location while learning to make your basket from recycled crab-fishing rope. You will be provided with materials and up close instruction by Beach Basket creater and artist Susan Spence. These small, friendly classes are held in the Marie Powell Gallery and Workshop, overlooking the picturesque Port of Ilwaco and the Ilwaco fishing fleet.

Driftwood & Daffodils
The Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco, Washington presents the inaugural Driftwood & Daffodils event on March 30 and April 1, 2023. It’s reviving a popular event from the mid- 20th century and is part contest, part show.

Intermediate Beach Basket Class with Susan Spence
Susan Spence’s Intermediate Beach Basket Class is for anyone who has taken a Beginner Beach Basket class or is well versed in crochet.
We will be making bigger baskets than the first one you made. Think about the shape you want your new basket to be. We will focus on creating what you want rather than letting the rope dictate shape.

Great Blue & Beyond Exhibition: RiverSea Gallery
You’re invited to my RiverSea Gallery art exhibition with Penny Treat, entitled "Great Blue & Beyond," which will take place November 13 – December 7, 2021! The driving force for this exhibition is our responsibility to highlight our dwindling wildlife! And the namesake for this show is the Great Blue Heron, one of the most loved and iconic birds of our local coastline.

Fundraising Art Auction “Out the Window” at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum
Save the date! The Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco, WA is holding their fundraising art auction “Out the Window from October 22nd through November 13th. And I’m donating my piece “Window to Summer Garden” for the auction. Mixed media on cradled board with an archival varnish, 12" x 12.”
Bidders will have the opportunity to bid on "Window to Summer Garden" and other artwork from local artists in person at the museum or online.

Ilwaco Art Walk
The LAST Ilwaco Art Walk of the season is tomorrow, Sept. 3rd!
Up and down the Port of Ilwaco, shops and restaurants will be open! And here at the Gallery, artists David Campiche and Susan Spence will join me to meet and greet our visitors - And discuss the creation of stunning art like these baskets made during Susan's latest Beach Basket class.
